This bill expands the definition of “qualified military person” to mean a “veteran”, which generally includes veterans of armed conflicts and other service members who were discharged under honorable conditions. The bill also provides that surviving spouses and children of qualified veterans are considered residents of Iowa for purposes of undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees at community colleges.
